A glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) reported in Bhutan has triggered flood alerts across parts of North Bengal and lower Assam. Floodwaters are flowing downstream through the Mo Chhu and Mofu river systems towards the Sankosh. Assam authorities have activated disaster response teams and alerted riverside communities. An Assam minister said the Sankosh river level remains well below the danger mark and 47 people earlier reported missing have been traced and confirmed.
