James Kappani has built an AI-controlled saffron farm in 150 sq ft in Kerala. He sells saffron at Rs 650/gram, makes saffron-infused products and trains others in farming. When James Kappani visited Pampore in Kashmir on a business trip in 2022, he was struck by the vast fields of purple flowers in bloom in November. The locals told him they were saffron flowers, whose stigmas yield the world's costliest spice.
