The flood situation in Odisha’s Ganjam district has worsened following extremely heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone Arnab, with water levels rising in Bansadhara and Rushikulya rivers. Engineer-in-Chief (EIC) Dilip Kumar Rout acknowledged on Thursday that the scale of rainfall in Ganjam was larger than anticipated, leading to flooding in several areas.
