The redevelopment will increase Terminal-1’s contact aircraft stands from seven to 25 and baggage reclaim belts from five to 11. During construction, Mumbai Metropolitan Region airport capacity is projected to fall to 60 MPPA at its lowest point in October 2027 before eventually reaching 85 MPPA after the new terminal opens in December 2030.
