Electrical contractors have opposed a proposed provision of the Electricity Supply Regulations (ESR) draft 2026, issued by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), which allows building owners to self-certify compliance with electrical safety norms before obtaining new power connections.
