A major fire broke out on Sunday in a scrap shop at Gurandi Bazaar, Belbagh, spreading to 3 - 4 nearby shops. No casualties were reported, but goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed. Six to seven fire engines were deployed, and firefighters battled the intense blaze for hours, preventing it from reaching nearby residential areas.
