The Congress has suffered a major electoral setback, failing to win any of the 12 MLC seats it contested across four states. In Bihar, its alliance with the RJD fell apart, while in Maharashtra, the party lost two seats it previously held. Sharad Pawar's NCP won both seats it contested.
