While the BJP won the Pune Division Teachers’ constituency, defeating the sitting Congress MLC, the NCP (SP) retained the Pune Division Graduates’ constituency. Counting of votes for five Maharashtra Legislative Council constituencies is underway, following polling held on October 23. The seats include Nagpur, Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. As numbers trickle in, questions over candidate selection, handling of internal dissent and coordination with allies emerge from within BJP.
