Following a directive from the food safety commissionerate to prevent the reuse of cooking oil and to assess hygiene standards in establishments, a special inspection drive 'Operation Thelima 2' was conducted in Ernakulam on Tuesday. Kochi food safety inspections found hygiene violations at 15 eateries, with two facing shutdown steps and 30kg of spoiled food destroyed.
