A 50-year-old woman, Chhaya Gaikwad, was killed by a speeding BMC garbage vehicle while crossing Thane-Belapur Road near Turbhe railway station. Residents blocked the road, citing 23 deaths and over 50 injuries at the junction in 10 years. They are demanding a temporary pedestrian bridge and faster completion of the delayed Rs 41-crore flyover.
