According to AFP, explosions were heard in Riyadh earlier in the day. Saudi authorities said their air defence systems intercepted two ballistic missiles fired by the Iran-backed rebels and destroyed three more missiles directed towards the country’s eastern region. Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Tuesday claimed they had targeted Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry in Riyadh with a ballistic missile. However, Saudi Arabia had not confirmed the claim at the time of reporting.
