🪖 Germany is keen to learn from Singapore's National Service system as the country debates the return of conscription amid growing security concerns in Europe, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Tuesday (Oct 27). Speaking at the 49th Singapore Lecture organised by the Yusof Ishak Institute (ISEAS), Mr Merz noted that military service appears to be widely accepted among young Singaporeans.
