The teddy bear lives in the New York Public Library. Though a trip to Britain has been discussed, he doesn’t seem to be moving back home. Long before he lived in the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie-the-Pooh started out as a real animal, and many fans don't know about that. Milne's classic children's book Winnie-the-Pooh was first published in October 1926.
