A woman has been arrested in Odisha’s Kandhamal district for allegedly torturing her elderly mother over a property dispute. The victim later died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Phulbani. According to reports, the accused has been identified as Smita Rani Kahnar of Budadani village. She was arrested by Phulbani Town police on Saturday night. Officials reportedly seized two knives and jewellery belonging to the deceased, Sebati Kahnar.
