A senior assistant of the Sunabeda Wildlife Division was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance late on Saturday for allegedly misappropriating government funds worth over Rs 2.60 crore. The accused, Babulu Suna, was arrested in Bolangir after reportedly remaining absconding for six months. Suna was in charge of the establishment section at the Divisional Forest Officer’s (DFO) office in Nuapada district. The Vigilance Department estimated the total amount allegedly misappropriated at Rs 2,60,21,306.
